Renowned emerging market expert Mark Mobius, an advocate for India, recently undertook a month-long visit to the country, expressing admiration for Bengaluru’s impeccably clean metro system and lauding the city’s Kempegowda International Airport as one of the world’s most aesthetically pleasing.

Mobius, who explored nine cities during his visit, highlighted Bengaluru’s status as the “Silicon Valley of India” due to hosting major IT giants like Infosys and Wipro. Reflecting on his subway experience in the city, he noted the modern, spotless conditions and the artistic touch evident in the unique tokens depicting famous landmarks.

In a blog post, Mobius shared his subway experience with a picture on a metro platform, humorously stating, “New Yorkers would be amazed by how clean the subway is in Bengaluru!”

The billionaire investor, known for his optimistic prediction that Sensex would surpass 1 lakh points within five years, commended Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport. Designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM), the airport spans a vast 255,000 square meters and boasts a “terminal in a garden” concept, featuring bamboo-like motifs and abundant greenery.

Sharing a photo taken at the airport, Mobius praised its tasteful design and architectural finesse. In his closing remarks, he addressed concerns about India’s labeled “overvalued” market, asserting that conventional valuation metrics may underestimate the future growth potential of many Indian companies. According to Mobius, focusing on solidly growing companies remains crucial for investment timing, as they present opportunities for excellence regardless of the overall market sentiment.
